The second closed beta for the highly anticipated Silver Palace, officially titled the “Dichotomy” Beta Test, has officially wrapped up. Running from July 23 to August 13, 2026, this small-scale, PC-exclusive test gave selected players another deep dive into the enigmatic world crafted by developer Elementa, following the earlier Monotype closed beta held in January.
Designed as a strict, 18+ closed beta with a full data wipe and no in-game microtransactions, the Dichotomy test was a highly focused testing ground. To secure a spot, players had to navigate a recruitment survey on the official site or participate in social media events before the mid-July cutoff, with lucky participants being notified directly via email.
A Tale of Shifting Allegiances
Elementa perfectly set the tone for the Dichotomy test with the release of the “Black Knights’ Tango” trailer. The footage leaned heavily into the theme of shifting loyalties and unpredictable alliances, captured perfectly by its tagline: “When gravity turns, so too does the tide of offence and defence. Yesterday’s foe may well be today’s friend. And, naturally, today’s friend may become tomorrow’s foe.”
On July 2, 2026, the developers deepened the mystery with a second, story-centric trailer. Shifting the focus away from the combat showcased in the Tango cut, this cinematic release highlighted the game’s intricate narrative and dark atmosphere.
Opening with the ominous narration, “The curtain rises on a pageant of human nature laid bare,” the trailer explored themes of reconstructing truth “from ruin and bone.” It heavily featured the male Detective, known as “The Raven’s Beak,” and teased the overarching presence of the story’s unseen “Author,” cementing the game’s core premise: “A detective’s finest hour begins as the curtain rises.”
With the Dichotomy Beta now concluded, players and fans are eagerly waiting for Elementa’s next move and what the future holds for the world of Silver Palace.
